Pastor - Johnny Mansell
Johnny has been the pastor of Baylor Baptist Church for twenty-one years, coming to Ennis after having served as pastor for thirteen years in New Mexico. Johnny and his wife were appointed as Church Planters by the Home Mission Board and were involved in the beginning of a new church start in Las Cruces, New Mexico before moving to Ennis. He is a native of Winters, Texas. He is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. Johnny is married to Kathie and they are the parents of four grown children, Shane, Daniel, Karrie, and Julia. Kathie was raised in Brazil, where her parents served as missionaries with the Foreign Mission Board.
Associate Pastor/Music - David Howard
Our Associate Pastor is David Howard. He is responsible for the Music and Education Ministries of the Church. David and his wife Jan have been with Baylor for 17 years. They have two grown children, James who is a Deacon at Wildwood Baptist Church in Mesquite and Sandra Catlin of Rowlett. Like our Pastor, David has been in Local Church Ministry for 46 years, serving in Dallas and several other East Texas cities. David has a musical background. He was drum major of the Greenville High School Band and the band at East Texas State University. He received a B.A. degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1975 and a Masters Degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1978. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in November of 1978. Jan has always demonstrated her love for teaching Children. She has taught all grades in Sunday School, Discipleship and Missions Groups. She is a leader on several of our ministry committees and a member of the worship choir. David assists our Pastor in many ways. Besides leading our choir and the worship service, he preaches, visits the sick, teaches Bible study and administers the daily operations of the church. He desires to help and wants to be available to you. David enjoys playing golf and he is a member and Past President of the Ennis Noon Lions Club.
Church Secretary - Sandra Ward
Sandra joined our staff at the beginning of 2006.
We are delighted to have her working with us in our office.
